Types of crosstalk
1) Optical crosstalk
- Due to photon exchange between neighboring pixel before electron/hole pair generation
- Mainly appears in back-end, but can also appear in silicon subsrate
2) Electrical crosstalk
- Due to diffusion of electric charge between adjacent pixels
Solved after application of FDTI technology
3) Spectral crosstalk
- Only dependent on the color filter design
- Optical crosstalk and electrical crosstalk becomes more severe as pixel pitch is scaled down
- Optical crosstalk and electrical crosstalk are pixel architecture dependent
- Spectral crosstalk is dependent on the angle of incoming light
