Chief ray angle (CRA)

Definition: The angle between the optical axis and chief ray

 

CRA는 카메라의 IR cutoff filter와 micro lens aray에 의해 결정된다.

 

Pixel array의 중앙 부분 pixel 들은 PD에 빛이 문제없이 입사되지만, 코너나 사이드 영역 pixel들에는 빛이 왼전히 들어가지 못하는 vignetting 문제가 생기기 때문에 lens를 shift하는 기술이 이용된다.

 

위 그림과 같이 lens shift를 통해 pixel의 초점을 중앙으로 조절할 수가 있다.
